The Amateur Everything

Karthik Kakarala, head of Solar Shadows Records, 2nd year student in the Xavier University School of Medicine at Aruba, contains a sampling of what rattles around in his mind upon this Tumblr. This is not a Twitter. Expect bouts of verbosity, regardless of whether it's for better or for worse.

These, I’m keeping.
I bought them in China, while I was there for a one-month long course in, yep, Chinese History.  At Illinois Wesleyan University, we had two semesters, and then a one-month May Term, every year.  The first week was the one-week break, and then the three weeks were the full term, in which one course would be considered a full load, and two courses were for individuals that were possibly insane.
This was after the first month of delivering pizza, and before the latter segment of my employment, there (I quit on amicable terms, in order to go to Reno, NV to work for my uncle [catching him up on no less than 5.5 months of medical billing], while also taking a Physics course on the weekdays out of the University of Nevada, Reno… the pizza place lasted a few more months, and then finally closed).
Somewhere in the early half of being there, she nearly left me.  Even then, the country provided a massive re-centering that I won’t even attempt to describe in one post.
This is hardly the only item that I got there (hell, it’s not even the only pair of sunglasses that I got, there), purchased via a quickly re-ignited bartering ability in an open-air flea market, there.
